Crown Nepal is a Bible training center located in the heart of Kathmandu. Founded with the vision of training nationals, Crown Nepal has been used of God in a mighty way since its beginning in 2015. The training is being conducted in association with the Crown College of the Bible, Knoxville, TN.
With the growing number of believers, the need for trained pastors, preachers, teachers, and Christian workers is growing here in Nepal. Crown Nepal is fulfilling this need by training Bible preachers, teachers, church planters, and Christian workers.
Crown Nepal is the fruit of many years of prayers of God’s people. Crown Nepal started training students in 2015. Starting with just handful of students, it has grown to 70 students in four years.
We have ‘day classes’ for five days a week, and ‘evening classes’ twice a week. Our courses are based on the curriculum of the Crown College of the Bible.
New Testament churches in every 7 provinces of Nepal. Sound Bible teaching, and trained Christian workers in Nepal and beyond. This is our vision in a nutshell.
Open Doors USA places Nepal at number 32 on its list of the 50 countries where it is most dangerous to be a Christian. Despite this, Christianity is growing. Official estimates put the number of believers in Nepal at about 400,000 out of a total population of 29.7 million—explosive growth since a 1951 census listed no Christians in the country. Yet Kevin Nerren believes the total number of believers is actually “well over” 1 million today, an assessment corroborated by an NPR report claiming the number Christians in Nepal could be “much higher” than officially reported and calling it “one of the world’s fastest-growing Christian populations.”
Pastor U. J. Gurung had started a Bible training institute in 2001, and God used this institute to train many men and women throughout the years. The institute, however, lacked proper organization, curriculum, and other resources. In 2015, Crown Nepal was begun with proper organization, curriculum, and resources.
The growing Christian community demands more trained Christian workers. The need of trained laborers is growing here in Nepal. The harvest truly is plenteous, we need more laborers. We also need trained pastors, preachers, and teachers to guide and lead the churches. Crown Nepal is moving forward having this vision and burden of training Nepali pastors, preachers, teachers, church planters, and Christian workers. The need is great, but God is greater!
Crown Nepal is training Nepali young men and women from all across the country. We already have about 70 graduates, who have been trained with us in one way or another. Our vision is to train laborers for all parts of Nepal. God willing, our burden is to go beyond Nepal, as God leads. There is a great need in Bhutan, India, Pakistan, and other surrounding countries as well. We are moving forward as God leads and directs.
